UEFA Punishes CSKA, Part Of Arena Khimki To Be Closed In Their Next Champions League Home Game

European football governing body UEFA has ordered CSKA Moscow to have part of their Arena Khimki Stadium (sector D) closed during the club’s next Champions League home fixture. This comes as a punishment for the Russian champions for the racist behaviour of their fans during October 23 Champions League match against Manchester City. Ivory Coast international, Yaya Toure, complained of racist abuse inside the Moscow stadium during the Group D encounter, adding that he notified Romanian referee, Ovidou Hategan, who officiated the encounter, about a ‘Monkey Chant’ by a section of the fans.
UEFA pushed through new anti-racism proposals earlier this year which highlights the body’s zero tolerance on racism. A UEFA statement concerning racism and its punishment read: “The fight against racism is a high priority for UEFA”. “All forms of racist behaviour are considered serious offences against the disciplinary regulations and are punished with the most severe sanctions.” It introduced a measure whereby if supporters were found guilty then there would be partial closure of the stadium. If there is a second offence by the club’s supporters there will be full closure with a minimum of 50,000 euros (£ 42,700) fine. “Under the regulations, a second offence of racial abuse concerning spectators could result in a full stadium closure,” the UEFA statement on racism added. Meanwhile referee Hategan was absolved of blame by UEFA followi ng accusations he may not have followed the correct procedure. A UEFA spokeman told BBC Sport the referee, after being informed by Toure of allegations regarding racist abuse, passed the message to the 4th official who then informed the venue director, a UEFA appointment, who could have then made an announcement to the crowd. The venue director claimed he hadn’t heard anything from the crowd and failed to read an announcement. UEFA says the man has now been relieved of his duties.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure says arch-rivals Manchester United are ‘really struggling’ to retain their title

The Red Devils swept to the Premier League crown in 2012/13, offering the perfect send-off to outgoing boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
A changing of the guard at Old Trafford has not run smoothly, though, with new manager David Moyes enduring a baptism of fire.
There have been signs in recent outings that the tide is turning, but a slow start has left the defending champions eight points off the pace.
Toure feels United will find it difficult to bridge that gap, with Liverpool considered to be a greater threat to the usual suspects in the battle for top flight supremacy.
He said in The Sun: “United will find it hard to defend the title since they have a new manager and are really struggling.

“Liverpool are a big threat at the moment because they have a strong squad and their strikers – Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge – are scoring goals at will.”
City ended their latest outing empty-handed, leaving them just two points better off than United and with goalkeeper Joe Hart coming in for renewed criticism.
The England man endured an afternoon to forget during a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea on Sunday, but Toure is convinced he remains the right man to provide City’s last line of defence.
He added: “Joe is a top keeper who gives his all to the team.”

Rapper 50 Cent Gets Probation In Domestic Violence Case

50-cent-

If Chris Brown can get away then 50 Cent should be allowed to walk free too.
G-Unit gang leader, rapper 50 Cent on Monday was all smiles as the Los Angeles prosecutors granted his appeal and gave him a lesser sentence of three years’ probation and 30 days of community service after allegedly kicking the mother of his child and destroying her property during a June altercation.
The 38-year-old rapper, Curtis Jackson, pleaded no contest to a single count of misdemeanor vandalism while three vandalism counts and one count of misdemeanor domestic violence were dropped, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Superior Court said.

The Grammy winner was accused of kicking open a door at the condominium of his former girlfriend, model Daphne Narvaez, who is also known as Daphne Joy, in the Toluca Lake community of Los Angeles, kicking her and destroying a piece of furniture, chandelier and television.
50 Cent also has to pay $7,100 in restitution and $2,390 in fines.
50 Cent’s attorney, Scott Leemon, also said the “In da Club” rapper will also attend counseling sessions.
In August, 50 Cent, who could have faced a maximum penalty of five years in jail and $46,000 if convicted on all counts, pleaded not guilty to the five counts before agreeing to the plea deal.

PRESIDENT JONATHAN TO MEET ASUU ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4

President Goodluck Jonathan will on Monday, November 4, meet with the leadership of ASUU at the Presidential Villa.

This was part of the resolutions of the meeting between the ASUU leadership, Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Supervising Minister of Education on Tuesday as was first reported by this medium.

An official of the Vice President's office who pleaded anonymity told Scan News that all hands are now on deck to ensure that the universities resume next week.

The official stated that the Vice President and the Supervising Minister of Education have made head-way in resolving the strike, but the final involvement of the President is to show ASUU that there is the commitment of the Federal Government at the highest level.

It was learnt that the President has been fully briefed on steps taken by Vice President Namadi Sambo and the Supervising Minister of Education to get to this point. It was learnt that the President will at next Monday's meeting present to the ASUU leadership the administration's last concession for them to call off the prolonged strike.

A source at the Presidential Villa noted that if ASUU fails to call off, the Federal Government will then resort to plan B, which will be to compulsorily open the universities, using the instrumentality of the governing councils and the school managements.

Already, most of the governing councils of the universities have started meeting to work out modalities for the compulsory re-opening of the universities should ASUU fail to honour the personal request of President Jonathan.

Scan News gathered that the Supervising Minister of Education, Barr. Nyesom Wike and the Vice Chancellors of Public Universities also discussed the re-opening of the schools last Monday. Most of the Vice Chancellors suggested the compulsory re-opening of the schools, should the last ditch efforts fail.

It was gathered that security report available to the Presidency may have necessitated this line of action to salvage the universities system from the direction it is facing at present.

Tiwa Savage, Peter Okoye To Wed In November

November must be the new month of love as two of Nigeria’s most notable celebrity couples are prepping up to be joined in holy matrimony.

Delectable singer Tiwa Savage is getting married to her manager-fiance Tunji ‘T-Billz’ Balogun; so is Peter Okoye, one half the famous duo, Psquare who’s warming to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend and baby-mama, Lola Omotayo.

While the First Lady of Mavin Records and her beau picked November 23, 2013 as their wedding date, Peter and Lola will be moving on with their November 17, 2013 date to have their traditional marriage.
Last week, an excited Tiwa and her soon-to-be hubby travelled out to the UK shopping for some wedding items. ‘It is happening in November and here in Lagos. I have to follow due protocols before I can disclose further information’, one of the couple’s aides reveals. Tiwa and T-Billz are expected back in Lagos on Tuesday (October 29, 2013).
It was also revealed that the traditional marriage will be followed by a white wedding ceremony which is expected to hold in early 2014 in TheMaldives an island off the coast of the Indian Ocean. Tiwa reportedly visited the island in August, probably to make wedding arrangements.

‘It is nice to finally see these two taking the next step in their relationship. They have been through a lot together’ a source close to the couple said. In what started as a rumour and several denials, Tiwa and T-Billz’s relationship suddenly took a dramatic twist when he formally proposed on Tiwa’s 34th birthday on February 5, 2013.
On their part, Peter and Lola have been quite open with their wedding plans. The November traditional wedding will take place at the Arc Events Centre in Lekki, Lagos. Comedian Gbenga Adeyinka 1st and TV host Helen Paul have been selected to anchor the event.
On August 6, 2013, Peter proposed to Lola in grand style, presenting her with a brand new Range Rover Evoque, bouquet of flowers and a stunning diamond ring. Together, the couple have two children, four year old Cameron and nine months old Aliona. A surprise bachelorette party was held on Saturday October 26 for Lola, attended by close friends.
Arrangements are said to be in top gear as Peter is leaving no stone unturned to make the day an unforgettable one. ‘Peter plans to make the wedding as memorable as possible to please the woman who stood by him all these years’, a source said. Both couples are planning big for their days which leaves one to wonder if either of these November weddings will match up to the widely publicised and expensive Dubai wedding of 2face and Annie held earlier this year.

HOW TO FIND IMEI NUMBER OFYOUR STOLEN / LOST ANDROIDPHONE

After buying a new mobile phone be it
nokia, blackberry, android, iphone, it is expected of us to write down the IMEI number to serve as means of claiming ownership of the phone should in case it got stolen or lost.so
many of us fail to do that and as a result of that, would not be able to
claim or block such phone if found.

However Today i am going to share with you on how to find the IMEI number of your lost/stolen android phone.

Remember google is the owner of android OS and such requires one to
use their gmail account to fully install and synchronize the android
packages such as phone details, network etc. with this you can easily get your IMEI if the phone was stolen or lost. this is why i always encourage my fans to create a new gmail account for their
android phones. Its never a good idea to use your private gmail to install or
synchronize when you bought new android phone like samsung galaxy, techno N3, N7, F7, htc, Sony experia etc because when the phone is stolen or lost, that means you have
automatically give the person access to your private email to control, guess you wouldn't want that to happen.

PROCEDURES TO FIND THE IMEI OF YOUR ANDROID PHONES

1. Visit gmail.com on your computer and login using the email you used to
install your android phone when you first bought it.when you are logged in, click on account at the left top corner of the page and then click on dashboard or you can just go directly using this link dashboard settings.

2. From the dashboard, you will see ANDROID, click on it, it will display all the device you have attached to the email and the IMEI number.

you can then write it down some where for reference purpose. that's
all.

Hope its helpful??

FG,ASUU AGREED TO END STRIKE

Indication emerged on Tuesday that the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) may have agreed to end their face-off.
The meeting between the Supervising Minister of Education, Mr Nyesom Wike and ASUU, led by its president, Dr Nasir Isa Fagge, held behind closed-door, was said to be productive.
Both parties came out from the meeting beaming with smiles, an indication that some compromises had been made, though they refused to speak with journalists.
Nigerian Tribune, however, gathered that ASUU had presented its position on some of the grey areas in the agreement to the minister.
While the minister was to convey this to President Goodluck Jonathan for approval, ASUU was to convene its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, where decision on suspension of the about four-month-old strike would be decided.
Sources also told the Nigerian Tribune that the minister had already briefed the vice chancellors on the implementation of some of the issues agreed upon

VC Explains Why Nigerian Graduates Are Unemployable

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Prof. Biyi Daramola, says Nigerian graduates are unemployable due to the lack of self discipline and commitment to vigorous academic pursuit.

Daramola said this in a lecture entitled; ”The Role of Science and Technology in Human Resource Management”, he presented at the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, on Thursday.

He spoke at a forum organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.
The Professor of Agricultural Economics said it was regrettable that many Nigerian graduates could not secure jobs after years of applications.
He said that the lack of exposure to science and Technology was also a major factor responsible for their plight.

The vice chancellor said it was high time the country’s education curricula be fashioned in a manner to make mathematics compulsory for all courses at all levels.

This, he said, would boost students’ interests in science and technology from their tender ages.
Daramola urged governments to ensure proper funding of science and technology at all levels of the academic cadre, adding that “they should also help in the establishment of monotechnics and polytechnics or universities of technology that would expose students to skills acquisition.

“Over the years, Nigerian education policies have recognised the importance of science-based courses in the nation’s education curricular and thus pursued the policy of giving more attention to science-oriented courses during admissions into the nation’s tertiary institutions.”

He said that the empahasis on science and technology would facilitate the actualisation of the country’s desire to join the comity of developed economies by the year 2020.

In her remarks, the Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof Modupe Adelabu, who was represented by the Commissioner for Education, Mr Kehinde Ojo, said the distributions of 48,000 laptops to students and teachers, as well as renovation of all schools by Gov. Kayode Fayemi-led administration underscored the importance placed on education.

The President/Chairman of Council, Mr. Victor Famuyibo, who was represented by the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of the Institution, Mr Sunday Adeyemi, pledged that the council would continue to live up to expectations in its commitment to the management of human capital for maximum productivity. ASUU Strike: Idle Students Take Up Menial Jobs In Kaduna

Some undergraduates in Kaduna have ventured into various vocations to keep them occupied as the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) persists, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Some of them who spoke with NAN on Friday in Kaduna said that they had to find something to do, to keep their minds occupied and avoid trouble.

Grace Ocholi, a 300-level student of English at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, said she secured a temporary job as a fuel pump attendant at a petrol station in Sabon-Tasha area of the city to enable her earn some money until the end of the strike.

“Everyone in my house go out every morning to work, and my younger sisters go to school while I stay home and sleep awaiting for their return.

“I am not okay with staying idle so I decided to engage in something useful,” Grace said.
Seun Ali, an HND Computer Science student of Kaduna Polytechnic told NAN that he worked at a friend’s barbing saloon to earn some money instead of staying idle at home.

Another student, Henry Samuel of Mass Communication Department, Ahmadu Bello University, said he was assisting his father in selling tiles before he was admitted to the university.

Samuel said he had to continue manning the business until the end of the lecturers’ strike.
“So instead of wasting time waiting for the prolonged strike to end, I returned to continue from where I stopped,” he said.

The students advised their colleagues to engage in something meaningful while the strike lasted, so as not to fall into the temptation of going into crime due to idleness.

NAN recalls that ASUU had been on strike since June over the non-implementation of a 2009 agreement it entered with the Federal Government on the funding of public universities. (NAN)

WITH BLACKBERRY OUT OF THE RUNNING, WHO WILL EVENTUALLY DOMINATE?

WITH BLACKBERRY OUT OF THE RUNNING, WHO WILL EVENTUALLY DOMINATE?

Once upon a time, Blackberry was one of the leading handset providers throughout the world. They were known for being a social device with BBM and great for business professionals. Since then it has been a downward spiral for the company and 2013 seems to be the year that they have finally accepted defeat. So with Blackberry out of the running, which company will eventually dominate the mobile market?

COULD IT BE APPLE?
With this years release of two new iPhones, Apple does not seem to be slowing down in a bid to dominate.

HOW ABOUT SAMSUNG?
With the Galaxy S4 receiving great reviews, as well as the Note 3, Samsung definitely seem to be upping their game in terms of quality and performance.

MAYBE HTC?
Although HTC is a company that has been around for years, However, although models such as the HTC One have received a large amount of attention

WILL NOKIA BE THE ONE?
As with Samsung, Nokia has always been a fairly constant provider within the mobile market.

In conclusion
So to summarize, Nokia have never particularly been in the running and HTC are now running out of steam. This leaves the two big guys Apple and Samsung left in the ring. But who will make it to the top? At the minute it looks 50/50 as Apple have released new models to tackle Samsungs S4, but how long that will hold up, only time will tell.

TAMBUWAL SAYS HOUSE WILL APPROVE MONEY TO END ASUU STRIKE

House of Rep Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, has said if there is a need to make extra budgetary provisions for the Federal Government to resolve the lingering face-off between it and the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU), the House would do so.

Let me use this opportunity to appeal to both the Executive arm and the authorities of ASUU to quickly resolve the problem. If there is need for any appropriation, the House will expeditiously assent to it in the interest of our students and the nation.

The Speaker spoke in Abuja when he received a briefing on the update of the ASUU strike from the Aminu Suleiman-led House Committee on Education.

The House mandated the Education committee to investigate the face-off by highlighting the areas of conflict and proffer solutions.

Tambuwal urged all parties to consider the interest of the students and the educational future of the nation.
